Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
The Senior Educational Leadership Team is responsible for the educational programs at our BIBS Shunyi campus. The individual and collective experience of our educational leadership team is extensive and impressive. This team is tasked with realizing the Beanstalk bilingual educational mission, modeling the behaviours identified in our school motto, and ensuring the professional implementation of our three International Baccalaureate Programs (PYP, MYP, and DP) with the Chinese National Curriculum.

Ms. Kathy Shi (Hua) brings her vision of giving the essences of Chinese and Western education to children. With over twenty years of experience in education, Ms. Shi and BIBS are committed to integrating China's education with Western education in supportive and stimulating environments.

Jiangtao Gao

Jiangtao Gao

Former Vice Principal of RDFZ, Senior Teacher, Special-class Teacher in Physics. Member of the National Expert Training Program of the Ministry of Education, the first group of State-level Backbone Teachers of the Ministry of Education's "Cross-century Gardener Project". Former Deputy Director of the Science Popularization Work Committee of the Chinese Physical Society, Committee Member of the Beijing Institue of Physics, former Deputy Director of the Competition Committee, former Director of the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Association. The only 2022 Yale University Distinguished Educator award winner from mainland China.

John McBryde

John McBryde is an educator with over 25 years of experience as Director/Head of School in five international schools in Asia, including 9 years as Director of the Western Academy of Beijing during its growth and development phase during 1998-2007. John is co-founder of ACAMIS and served on both the ACAMIS and EARCOS Boards. He has extensive experience in IB Programs and school accreditation. He was awarded the "Foreign Expert Award" by the Beijing Municipal Government for his outstanding contribution to Chinese education. John’s keen interests include Future Education, Learning Technologies, Community, Service and The Arts.

Dr. Paul Kim

Dr. Paul Kim

Director, BIBS Center of Future Education Dr. Kim is the Chief Technology Officer and Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University, who received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Technology from the USC in 1999. As an education technology entrepreneur, Dr. Kim designs and implements mobile technologies and social learning environment for Stanford undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Kim serves on the Board of Directors of WestEd, the Committee on Grand Challenges in International Development for the National Academies of Science, and the advisory committee for the National Science Foundation's Education and Human Resources Directorate.

Ms. Lim Geok Cheng

Ms. Lim Geok Cheng

Ms Lim was a Senior Consultant for the Centre for School Excellence, Ministry of Education, Singapore. Before her appointment as a Senior Consultant, Ms Lim had been a Principal for 18 years, serving different types of schools in Singapore to prepare students for the next level of education whether this be the junior colleges or polytechnics to equipping students for admission to the universities.  She was a Steward Principal and mentored principals before they took on their first postings. In the last school she ran, School of the Arts Singapore, the school offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme and direct admission to specialised institutes.


Dr. Angela Wu

Dr. Angela Wu
For approximately 25 years, Dr. Wu has been an IBEN educator in both China and Singapore. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Language & Literature. Dr. Wu plays the role as a IB Bilingual Workshop Leader for MYP, DP, and CP and doubling as the role of examiners for several international programs, including the China Gaokao, IB DP, A level, and IGCSE. She is the author of coursebooks for IBDP, IGCSE, and PYP.
Elizabeth Hines

Elizabeth Hines

Ms. Elizabeth Hines is a seasoned educator with a wealth of international experience, having served in various leadership roles for over 15 years, including positions as an Assistant Principal and IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Curriculum Coordinator. Holding a Master of Education from The College of New Jersey, she has worked across four continents, where she has consistently demonstrated her ability to foster academic excellence and spearhead curriculum development in line with IB standards. 

Carol Wan

Carol Wan

Ms. Carol Wan has a bachelor’s degree in English Education, studying for Ph.D. in Management Psychology and Educational Psychology, Beijing Family Education Instructor. She has 5 years of homeroom teacher experience, and 7 years family-school partnership and government relations experience. During the period of school visiting in Singapore and America, she has been trained in international programs like Primary Curriculum (IPC) system.
